Immunolabeling characteristics of OC in an AD case and preabsorption controls. Extensive OC labeling was observed in the hippocampus (A), subiculum (B) and frontal cortex (C) in AD. A higher magnification photograph illustrates that OC positive deposits were dense and consisted of fine fibrillar material (D). Preabsorption with a 100-fold concentration of OC antigen leads to a significant reduction in immunolabeling in the frontal cortex (E &F). Significant overlap was observed between OC positive immunoreactivity (Red – G) and LOC positive immunoreactivity (Green-H) suggesting that the two antibodies recognize similar deposits (Overlap is yellow – I).
