While the variability was much higher in the APP/Snca-/- animals, there was no significant difference in the average number of plaques. N = 3 every 4th section was examined. C. Western Blots of 12-month-old APP and APP/Snca-/- brain homogenates. The protein was separated using 10% SDS-PAGE, transferred to a nitrocellulose membrane, and probed with antibodies against β-synuclein, synaptophysin and α-tubulin. No differences in protein expression could be detected.
