Young 5XFAD and APP/PS1K1 mice do not present intraneuronal Aβ 5-x deposits. No intraneuronal Aβ5-x deposits were found in cortical brain sections of 1.5-month-old 5XFAD homozygous mice (A), as well as in hippocampal (C) and cortical sections of 2-month-old APP/PS1K1mice (E). Parallel sections probed with the 24311 pan-Aβ antibody demonstrated the presence of intraneuronal Aβ immunoreactivity in both AD transgenic mouse models (small arrows: B, D, F).
