Phosphorylated α-synuclein. Neuronal inclusions in all cases are shown to be immunoreactive for both pro-fibrillar S129 α-synuclein and pro-oligomeric Y125 α-synuclein. Neuritic α-synuclein in the duplication and H50Q cases showed less immunoreactivity of both phospho-α-synuclein epitopes. Representative double immunofluorescence images of mutation cases stained for total α-synuclein (green) and phospho-α-synuclein (S129/Y125) (red) shown in regions of highest pathology for each case: G51D hippocampus, duplication entorhinal cortex and H50Q SN.
