Loss of parkin facilitates the transmission of α-synuclein. a Rat primary cortical neurons were infected with shRNA lentivirus for non-targeting (Sh-NT) and parkin (Sh-Parkin) 11 days after plating, cultured for a further 2 days, and then co-cultured with α-synuclein overexpressing SH-SY5Y cells for 24 h. The cells were stained with an anti-human α-synuclein (red) antibody and observed using confocal microscopy. Blue indicates DAPI staining.
