The location of enzymatic activity was revealed thereafter by soaking the gel in fluorogenic quenched FRET peptide Ng70–78 (5-FAM_Ng70–78_QXL520). Note that only fraction #38 showed a band of fluorescence but not the nearby inactive fraction #35). The Coomassie-stained corresponding gel showed presence of proteins in both fractions.
