Low NO concentrations suppress BACE1 transcription, which is likely mediated through cGMP-PKG-upregulated PGC-1α. (A) Effect of nitrosative stress on BACE1 mRNA levels was examined by qRT-PCR. Lower concentrations of SNOC inhibited while higher concentrations of SNOC had no effect on BACE1 transcription.
