Melatonin treatment effect on anti-oxidant transcript expression in frontal cortex of 13-month old mice. Melatonin significantly (p < 0.05) lowered transcript levels for four markers of the antioxidant response system in a receptor-mediated fashion. This effect was seen in both NonAD and 2xAD mice that possessed melatonin receptors (MTNR+), but not in mice that lacked these (MTNR-). Evaluated with 2-way ANOVA; n = 4–6; error bars represent SEM
