The time schedule for experimental procedures in ApoE-TR mice. During weeks 10–12, all ApoE3-TR mice (n = 60) and ApoE4-TR mice (n = 60) received sucrose preference training and environmental adaptation. A group of ApoE3-TR and ApoE4-TR mice underwent the CUMS procedure during weeks 12–18; all mice underwent behavior testing during weeks 18–22. About 50 % of ApoE3-TR and ApoE4-TR mice were sacrificed during week 22 with the remaining mice undergoing behavior testing during weeks 48–52 prior to sacrifice
